LIONEL MESSI GETS 21 YEARS JAIL SENTENCE OVER TAX INVASION

Barcelona and Argentine footballer Lionel Messi has received a suspended jail sentence of 21 months and a fine of two million Euros for tax fraud.

Messi and his father Jorge were found to have evaded tax on Lionel’s Image Rights, owing more than 4 million Euros in back payments, and the Court of Catalonia has sentenced the pair to just under two years in prison.

A Spanish court has said the sentences for the 29-year-old Argentina striker can be appealed through the country’s supreme court.

However, reports say none of them will serve the jail time.
